My great grandparents, Avery Lawrence Barnes and Addie Mae Michael. He was crippled in one leg. His father built this little house and general store for him. He also made sure Avery had a good education for their times because he worried about him being able to make a living with his crippled leg. Avery and Addie Mae had 3 children before Avery died young of spinal meningitis. So they were only together in one U.S. Census.
