Turnip Green Soup
1 lb of dried Great Northern Beans, rinsed
Water to cover beans
Salt
1 lb of chopped, rinsed Turnip Greens
1 Tbsp of Better Than Bouillion Chicken
Water to cover greens
1 pkg (12 oz) Hillshire Farm Smoked Beef Sausage sliced in coins
Olive oil
1 lg Onion, chopped
3 cloves fresh Garlic, minced
1 pkg Knorr Recipe Mix, Vegetable
Salt, Pepper to taste
In small crockpot, put Great Northern Beans, water and salt. On high, let cook until done.
In large pot (stockpot) place turnip greens, Better Than Boullion chicken, black pepper and water. Bring to a boil and cook until tender. (You can add chopped turnips too.)
In large frying pan, add olive oil, onions, garlic and saute.
In large crockpot (or stew pot) mix all ingredients. Add the Knorr dried vegetable soup mix. Let cook awhile and check to see if it needs salt. You can also add hot sauce if you want.
Let everything cook together awhile to pick up their flavors.
Here is my digital scrapbook page of my Turnip Green Soup.
