Leviticus 9:1-6 KJV And it came to pass on the eighth day, that Moses called Aaron and his sons, and the elders of Israel; 2 And he said unto Aaron, Take thee a young calf for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering, without blemish, and offer them before the LORD. 3 And unto the children of Israel thou shalt speak, saying, Take ye a kid of the goats for a sin offering; and a calf and a lamb, both of the first year, without blemish, for a burnt offering; 4 Also a bullock and a ram for peace offerings, to sacrifice before the LORD; and a meat offering mingled with oil: for to day the LORD will appear unto you. 5 And they brought that which Moses commanded before the tabernacle of the congregation: and all the congregation drew near and stood before the LORD. 6 And Moses said, This is the thing which the LORD commanded that ye should do: and the glory of the LORD shall appear unto you.
On the 8th day, they assume their duties as priests. Moses had officiated until now, and now Aaron and his sons are consecrated and ready to assume their duties. Aaron had to first deal with his own sin, and then he could truly function as a priest, ready to serve others. The office of high priest was one of great authority, but of even greater responsibility. Aaron must offer his own first, and then the people’s, sacrifices.
Hebrews 5:2-10 ERV The high priest has his own weaknesses. So he is able to be gentle with those who do wrong out of ignorance. 3 He offers sacrifices for their sins, but he must also offer sacrifices for his own sins. 4 To be a high priest is an honor. But no one chooses himself for this work. That person must be chosen by God just as Aaron was. 5 It is the same with Christ. He did not choose himself to have the honor of becoming a high priest. But God chose him. God said to him, “You are my Son. Today I have become your Father.” 6 And in another part of the Scriptures God says, “You are a priest forever— the kind of priest Melchizedek was.” 7 While Jesus lived on earth he prayed to God, asking for help from the one who could save him from death. He prayed to God with loud cries and tears. And his prayers were answered because of his great respect for God. 8 Jesus was the Son of God, but he still suffered, and through his sufferings he learned to obey whatever God says. 9 This made him the perfect high priest, who provides the way for everyone who obeys him to be saved forever. 10 God made him high priest, just like Melchizedek.
For ministers, who have the care of souls, the advice Paul gave Timothy is:
1 Timothy 4:11-16 MKJV Command and teach these things. 12 Let no one despise your youth, but be an example of the believers, in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity. 13 Until I come, attend to reading, to exhortation, to teaching. 14 Do not neglect the gift in you, which was given you by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the body of elders. 15 Meditate on these things; be in these things in order that your improvement may appear to all. 16 Hold on to yourself and to the doctrine; continue in them, for doing this you shall both save yourself and those who hear you.
“He must make atonement as the Lord commanded. See here the wonderful condescension of the mercy of God, that he not only allows an atonement to be made, but commands it; not only admits, but requires us to be reconciled to him. No room therefore is left to doubt but that the atonement which is commanded will be accepted.” – Matthew Henry’s Commentary
What is the “glory of Jehovah”?
Leviticus 9:22-24 MKJV And Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people, and blessed them, and came down from offering the sin offering and the burnt offering and peace offerings. 23 And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of the congregation, and came out and blessed the people. And the glory of Jehovah appeared to all the people. 24 And there came a fire out from before Jehovah, and burned up the burnt offering and the fat on the altar. And all the people saw and shouted and fell on their faces.
Revelation 21:22-23 MKJV And I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty is its temple, even the Lamb. 23 And the city had no need of the sun, nor of the moon, that they might shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it, and its lamp is the Lamb.
2 Corinthians 4:5-6 ESV For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. 6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 4:5-6 CEV We are not preaching about ourselves. Our message is that Jesus Christ is Lord. He also sent us to be your servants. 6 The Scriptures say, “God commanded light to shine in the dark.” Now God is shining in our hearts to let you know that his glory is seen in Jesus Christ.
Titus 2:11-14 MKJV For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that having denied ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live discreetly, righteously and godly, in this present world, 13 looking for the blessed hope, and the appearance of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave Himself for us that He might redeem us from all iniquity and purify to Himself a special people, zealous of good works.

Part of Speech: verb
For those of us who have experienced being “slain in the Spirit”, I believe it would be much like this. You just fall under the glory. You don’t feel pushed down. You don’t feel an agency of falling or being pushed. No hand or touch; no feeling of something pushing you. No decision or action on your own part. (If someone pushes you or you decide to fall, it’s of the flesh and not the Spirit.) It’s a release of yourself into the hands of the Holy Spirit and the flow comes around you and down you sink. It’s honestly like falling back in a pool where the Spirit engulfs you and you float on Him. I guess it’s why it’s called the baptism of the Holy Spirit because it truly feels as though you let go and sink into water and then experience the flowing water. In a physical sense, you are prostrate before God, lying on the floor as it were. But the spiritual sense, and feeling, is one of floating in the living waters.
2 Chronicles 7:1-3 MKJV And when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from Heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices. And the glory of Jehovah filled the house. 2 And the priests could not enter into the house of Jehovah because the glory of Jehovah had filled Jehovah’s house. 3 And when all the sons of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of Jehovah on the house, they bowed their faces to the ground on the pavement, and worshiped and praised Jehovah, saying, For He is good, for His mercy endures forever.
Ezekiel 44:4 MKJV And He brought me by the way of the north gate before the house. And I looked, and, behold, the glory of Jehovah filled the house of Jehovah. And I fell on my face.
Genesis 17:1-3 MKJV And when Abram was ninety-nine years old, Jehovah appeared to Abram and said to him, I am the Almighty God! Walk before Me and be perfect. 2 And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly. 3 And Abram fell on his face. And God talked with him, saying,
Revelation 1:17-18 MKJV And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. And He laid His right hand upon me, saying to me, Do not fear, I am the First and the Last, 18 and the Living One, and I became dead, and behold, I am alive for ever and ever, Amen. And I have the keys of hell and of death.
Matthew 17:1-7 MKJV And after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, and brought them up into a high mountain apart. 2 And He was transfigured before them. And His face shone as the sun, and His clothing was white as the light. 3 And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah talking with Him. 4 And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here. If You will, let us make here three tabernacles; one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah. 5 While he yet spoke, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them. And behold a voice out of the cloud which said, This is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased, hear Him. 6 And when the disciples heard, they fell on their face and were greatly terrified. 7 And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise and do not be terrified.
Daniel 10:7-9 MKJV And I, Daniel, alone saw the vision. For the men who were with me did not see the vision; but a great quaking fell on them, so that they fled to hide themselves. 8 Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me. For my beauty was turned within me to corruption, and I kept no strength. 9 Yet I heard the voice of his words. And when I heard the voice of his words, then I was in a deep sleep on my face, and my face was toward the ground.
Acts 26:12-14 ESV “In this connection I journeyed to Damascus with the authority and commission of the chief priests. 13 At midday, O king, I saw on the way a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, that shone around me and those who journeyed with me. 14 And when we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew language, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’
